With more and more people opting to buy fireworks on sale and have displays at home alongside heading out with the family to a more structured display, Bonfire Night is big business these days.
There is lots on offer in terms of Firework Displays in Essex for 2017 – here are our top picks…

Down Hall Country House
First on our list of great firework displays in Essex is being held at the beautifully grand Down Hall country house. On November 6th, set to the backdrop of 110 acres of gardens and woodlands, Down Hall will be the perfect place to enjoy dazzling fireworks and delicious food.
Starting at 6.30pm and costing from just £19.95 for adults and £9.95 for children per ticket, you can not only marvel at the beautiful colours in the sky but keep your bellies happy too with a show-stopping hog roast, juicy beef burgers and sausages from the BBQ. And, as the evening gets chilly, warm your cockles with freshly brewed tea, a cosy cup of coffee or a delightful hot chocolate while the display takes place. Additional beverages can be purchased from the cocktail bar. The kids can also delight in plenty of entertainment throughout the night, including face-painting, arts & crafts and a disco.
Lake Meadows, Billericay
Next up, this annual event, organised by the Billericay Round Table each year attracting around 19,500 people from across Essex and beyond, had to make the best Firework Displays in Essex list.
Set in the beautiful surroundings of Lake Meadows park, this is an event for all the family with live entertainment, bonfire, fair ground rides, delicious food, coffee outlets and even a mulled wine and mulled cider tent. Gates open from 5.30pm on Saturday 4th, and there will be two fantastic displays, one at 7pm for children, synchronised to Pixar music none the less, and the main display at 8pm choreographed to big tunes.
Abridge Fireworks, Abridge
This year’s display on Sunday 5th November 2016 will be the biggest firework and bonfire event in the Abridge area. Taking place on the Village Hall field, all the profits go to local charies and organisations. In addition to the fantastic display, there is Guy Fawkes competition, funfair, bar and various food and drinks stalls opening during the evening.
Gates and funfair open at 4:30pm with the spectacular display starting at 7.30pm. Tickets can be purchased in advance, call 07958 535 971 to order your tickets. On the gate prices are £5 Adults and Kids £3.
There’ll be plenty of snap, crackle and pop at the Toddler Fireworks but no scary big bangs –perfect for younger visitors. The evenings are aimed especially at toddlers with beautiful and colourful, low noise fireworks and an early display time. There’ll also be a bonfire, fairground rides and food stalls for everyone to enjoy. Tickets are on sale now for Friday 3rd, Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th November.
Gates open at 4.30pm and we will light the bonfire at 5pm. Fireworks start at 6pm. There will be fairground rides included in the entry price and visitors can enjoy the Play Barn and Animal Barn too.
