Nestled within the back streets of London between Bishopsgate and Spitlefields Market you will find a piece of London luxury at Batty Langleys, the newest hotel from the amazing team behind The Rookery and Hazlitt’s. Situated on the historical cobbles of Folgate street, between the sophisticated glass building of London’s business district and the hipster buzz of Shoreditch, Batty Langley’s is ideally placed to explore all that this fine city has to offer.
From the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty, nothing is too much for the staff here. For small hotel they have the service just right; there whenever you need them, yet in no way at all imposing. The hotel itself doesn’t have a restaurant (breakfast is served in either your room or downstairs), however it’s setting in the heart of London’s up and coming East offers guests a plethora of food and drink establishments on the doorstep.
London Luxury At Batty Langleys
We spent the night in the hotel’s namesakes room; The Batty Langley Suite. Full of Georgian charm, this beautiful room had us won over for the moment we stepped through the door.
The room was fully equipped for our needs (and anything we didn’t have, like an iron, was provided immediately by the hotel staff), and the bathroom was AMAZING (complete with superb REN products). Add Apple TV, Free Wifi and our own private terrace into the mix and it was no surprise I considered claiming ‘squatters rights’ and refusing to leave the following morning.
After a relaxing soak in the tub (relaxation aided by the speaker system built into the bathroom) it was time to get dressed up and head off for a night on the town.
Downstairs there are three communal areas for the guests to use as they wish. Before heading out on to the streets of London in search of food we spent time by the fire in the Tapestry sitting room having a pre-diner drink from the honesty bar, it was like having our very own stately home.
London Luxury At Batty Langleys – The Earl of Bolingbroke Suite
Each of the rooms here have names as they don’t believe in numbering their guests. Batty Langley’s top priced room, The Earl of Bolingbroke Suite, is over £1000 per night, so when offered the chance to take a tour, there was only one answer coming from my mouth!
This premier suite offers rooms over two separate floors, a sitting room, extensive bookcase (with a very exciting hidden surprise), huge canopy bed, genuine antique marble bath and courtyard affording guests stunning views over East London and the Olympic Park. It is truly superb.
The hotels offers free stays to guests under 12 and a number of rooms come with pull out sofa beds in the separate living areas, perfect for family stays. It’s certainly somewhere I would love to take the girls. While the exquisite London luxury on offer at Batty Langley’s was perfect for our grown up weekend away, there is plenty to offer families here too.
Thanks Batty Langley’s for inviting us into your wonderful world. We cannot wait to return.
