Whats New At Chessington For 2016

It’s a hard day at work when you are riding rollercoasters – but that’s exactly what I had to cope with when Merlin invited us down last weekend to see what is new at Chessington for 2016.

It’s a tough job but someone has to do it.

Whats New At Chessington For 2016

Chessignton have discovered a brand new way to entertain us all with their new, one of a kind, show, Pandamonium! This show, the first of its kind in the UK, features a family of life-like animatronic pandas that will give you and your family a unique opportunity to see what it is like to be inches away from one of the world’s most endangered and most loved animal; the Giant Panda!

We saw a preview of the show during our stay and couldn’t believe how lifelike the pandas where – it also confused a lot of people on Instagram when I posted this picture too!

New At Chessington For 2016

Trail Of The Kings

This area of the park has had a facelift for 2016, with lots of interactive fun to be had now along the way. I always love this area of the park as it’s normally fairly quiet and a great place to escape the crowds on a busy day while learning all about the fascinating animals that live there.

Smokehouse BBQ

Next up on the list of things that are new at Chessington for 2016 is the Smokehouse BBQ restaurant. Located in Market Square this BBQ joint offers pulled pork, beef brisket, pork ribs and chicken (all cooked all wood barbecue pit) plus the most delicious Mac’n’Cheese for the vegetarians like me.

Go Ape

This will be the 30th Go Ape Adventure to launch in the UK, and the first ever to launch within a UK theme park! You and your family can unleash your inner Tarzan with two fantastic courses available – Tree Top Adventure and Tree Top Junior – meaning anyone over 1m can enjoy taking part, and allowing the whole family to Go Ape together.

Within the Tree Top Adventure course, adventurous tribes can enjoy two to three hours in the trees, taking on zip wires, Tarzan swings, rope ladders and a variety of obstacles and crossings. For mini Tarzans, the Tree Top Junior course is ideal – offering a fun-filled hour of tree-to-tree crossings, finishing with a zip line finale.

Additionally, Go Ape at Chessington will play host to the one-of-a-kind Go Ape four man zip wire! The whole family will feel the wind on their faces as they soar through the woodland side by side.

For those looking for an even more wild adventure than a night in the Azteca hotel are in for a treat this year as Chessington have just announced they are opening a glamping area next to Wild Asia in May 2016. This area with come complete with Safari Tents, a hot buffet breakfast, dedicated toilet and shower block and after hours access to some areas of the park.

With so many great attractions new at Chessington for 2016 its a must visit for families across the country!

Thanks to Chessington for inviting us down as your guests – all views are our own.

  1. I am unfortunate (or fortunate to some), to live on the same road as Chessington World of Adventures, you would most probably have passed my house or sat outside in the traffic. I was going to get my daughter a Merlin pass this year, but it looks like we won’t be doing that now x

  2. Chessington was always my favourite place to visit as a child. I’d be interested to see these animatronic pandas as I’ve never even heard of them before!!

  3. I grew up just a bus ride away from Chessington but in those days it was just a zoo! My parents still live there (my mum shops at the Lidl on the same road!) and I know my daughter would love to see the new panda show.

  4. We were planning on visiting this week as I saw all your posts raving about this, sadly car troubles have put pay to it, but hopefully we will see it soon
