We have been fans of The Leicester Square Theatre since seeing Stick Man there two Christmases ago, so were very excited when invited back this summer to see Tiddler And Other Terrific Tales live on stage.
The Leicester Square Theatre
The venue itself is perfect for children’s shows; with its informal vibe and intimate setting The Leicester Square Theatre provides young families a great place to begin their theatre loving journey together (although do be prepared to fold/carry buggies down a flight of stairs on arrival). There are ample booster seats for the little ones and plenty of space for the many, many, bags that accompany most families on days out in London!
Tiddler And Other Terrific Tales
Scamp Theatre have some sort of magical connection with Julia Donaldson stories. Their production of Stick Man is one of my very favourite shows to see with the family (and the ONLY way to start the Christmas holidays in this house) so we were all extremely excited about the prospect of seeing Tiddler And Other Terrific Tales performed this summer.
We were not disappointed. The show was as captivating and magical as we dreamed it would be. Seamlessly stitching the four stories together, this enthusiastic cast had both Lottie (6) and Little O (3) gripped from started to finish. I love how Scamp use so few props, relying on the unlimited imaginations each child brings with them, and how they integrate such catchy songs within each performance. While Stick Man will always hold the most special please in my heart, Tiddler And Other Tales will be in there as close second.
